Building with
Big Canyon Homes

Building an extraordinary home requires extraordinary collaboration.

Whether you’re arriving with an architect, an owner’s representative, a fully developed vision, or a property you’re just beginning to explore, our role is to bring clarity, leadership, and accountability to every step of the process.

Getting Started

The earlier, the better.

Whether you’re working with an architect, interior designer, owner’s representative, or are just beginning to explore what’s possible for your property, involving a builder early helps align the process from the start.

Early builder involvement allows construction costs, site conditions, building systems, scheduling, and long-term ownership considerations to inform decisions before they become expensive changes.

No.

Some clients come to us with a fully developed set of architectural plans. Others are beginning with land, ideas, and a vision for how they want to create something extraordinary.

We are comfortable joining the process at any stage.

Understanding the Builder-Led Approach

Not in the traditional sense.

Every home, every property, and every client is different.

Some clients arrive with an architect, interior designer, owner’s representative, or family office already in place. Others come to us with a vision and a piece of property.

Our Builder-Led approach is designed for clients who want the simplicity and accountability of a design-build experience without being limited to a fixed in-house team.

Rather than asking every project to fit one structure, we meet clients where they are, help assemble the right team when needed, and provide leadership from concept through completion.

The Builder-Led approach is built around a simple idea: assemble the right team for the project, then provide clear leadership and accountability from start to finish.

Rather than limiting clients to a fixed in-house team, Big Canyon Homes draws from a trusted network of architects, designers, engineers, consultants, and specialists to assemble the professionals best suited to each project’s unique vision, property, and goals.

Whether we are collaborating with an established team or helping build one from the ground up, our role remains the same: align the team, guide the process, and provide a single point of accountability throughout the project.

Absolutely.

Many clients are looking for the simplicity of a design-build experience: a trusted guide, a coordinated process, and a clear path from concept through completion.

Big Canyon Homes provides that experience through a more flexible model. We lead communication, planning, budgeting, scheduling, and construction while assembling or collaborating with the professionals best suited to the project.

The result is a highly coordinated experience built around your home, your property, and your goals.

Working With Architects & Owner’s Representatives

Perfect.

Many of our projects begin with an architect, interior designer, landscape architect, or consultant already selected by the client.

For years, Big Canyon Homes has collaborated with many of the region’s most respected design professionals on custom homes throughout Park City, Promontory, Tuhaye, Marcella, Deer Valley East Village, Wasatch Peaks Ranch, Old Ranch Road, The Colony, Huntsville, Powder Mountain, and beyond.

We value the role each professional plays and work closely with the entire design team to ensure the vision is executed with precision.

Absolutely.

Many of today’s most successful custom homes involve an owner’s representative, family office, or trusted advisor working alongside the ownership team.

We are accustomed to collaborating within these structures and view them as an important part of a successful project.

Our role is to provide leadership, communication, transparency, and execution while ensuring architects, consultants, owner’s representatives, and trades remain aligned around a shared vision.

The strongest projects are built on trust, collaboration, and clear accountability across the entire team.

Our team brings practical construction expertise into the design process early.

We assist with budgeting, constructability reviews, scheduling, site logistics, and building systems while protecting the architectural vision.

The result is a smoother design process, fewer surprises, and a stronger project overall.

Process & Communication

Transparency is a core part of our process.

Through our proprietary project management platform, homeowners, owner’s representatives, architects, and consultants have access to project schedules, Gantt charts, milestone tracking, budget management, selections tracking, project plans, change orders, and consistent project updates.

The result is a shared source of truth that keeps the entire team aligned throughout the project.

Our trade network has been built over decades.

Many of our trade and supplier partners have worked alongside Big Canyon Homes for more than ten years, with several working exclusively with our team.

Because we only take on projects we know we can deliver to our standards, teams are committed and aligned before construction begins.

That continuity creates consistency in scheduling, communication, quality control, and execution. It also allows us to successfully navigate the unique challenges of complex mountain properties and highly customized homes.

Building in Park City & Mountain Communities

Our primary focus is custom homes and legacy properties throughout Utah’s premier mountain communities, including Park City, Promontory, Tuhaye, Marcella, Deer Valley East Village, Old Ranch Road, The Colony, Wasatch Peaks Ranch, Huntsville, Powder Mountain, and surrounding areas.

We also take on select projects throughout Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana for clients whose vision, property, and goals align with our expertise.

In select cases, Big Canyon Homes provides consulting and advisory services for projects outside our core geographic markets.

Mountain communities present unique opportunities and challenges.

Site access, grading, utilities, weather conditions, design review boards, and snow-load requirements can all influence budgets and timelines.

Communities such as Promontory, Tuhaye, Marcella, Deer Valley East Village, Old Ranch Road, The Colony, and Wasatch Peaks Ranch each have their own requirements and considerations.

Experience matters.

The Big Canyon Homes Difference

Big Canyon Homes was built around a simple philosophy: take on fewer projects, stay deeply involved, and never compromise on execution.

Every project is supported by a dedicated Superintendent, active Project Management oversight, and direct involvement from ownership. Decision-makers remain accessible throughout the process, allowing challenges to be addressed quickly and proactively.

Many of our trade and supplier partners have worked with us for more than a decade, creating continuity in scheduling, communication, and quality control. We also self-perform key finish scopes, including finish carpentry, hardware installation, and specialty detail work, allowing us to maintain direct control over craftsmanship and schedule.

Most importantly, we view every project as the beginning of a long-term relationship. Our commitment extends well beyond move-in, supporting the ongoing stewardship and care of the home for years to come.

Big Canyon Homes specializes in highly customized residences where thoughtful planning, collaboration, and craftsmanship are essential to the outcome.

Many of our projects involve complex mountain sites, extensive amenities, multi-disciplinary design teams, owner’s representatives, and owners seeking a highly personalized building experience.

We are most successful when engaged early and trusted to help guide the process from vision through completion.
